Why We Are Special

Have you ever longed to get away from it all and spend a week or weekend in a peaceful setting? Welcome to Fredericksburg Texas
and Deep in the Heart.
This spacious bed and breakfast rests on 5
acres in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. With 18" thick rock walls,
quiet is really quiet inside the home. Heated tile floors in the dining
room and upstairs luxury bath add a lot in cooler months. Central air
conditioning and the native limestone keep it cool in warm months.
Fredericksburg is a quaint yet bustling little community which was
settled in the 1840's by a group of German immigrants looking for a
better way of life. German architecture and culture & even the
German language permeate our charming town. In fact,
Fredericksburg was just too special to keep a secret, and travelers
from all over the United States have come to consider Fredericksburg as
their special
escape and a home away from home.
There are over 100 stores if shopping is your bag. There are numerous
world-class restaurants & wine locales if fine cuisine is on
your list. A dozen of the Hill Country vineyards are located
close to Fredericksburg. The annual bluebonnet display every spring
(usually late March to mid April depending on weather) is
something to behold. Peaches arrive in mid June & are available in
good years all the way up until Labor Day. Horse racing attracts
many as well as antique car shows (many per year); various festivals
including the Oktoberfest; Night in Old Fredericksburg (mid July), the Food and Wine fest (in October) and
the Gillespie County Fair the last week-end before Labor Day that is
proud to hold the title of the longest continuously running county fair
in the entire state of Texas!
